For those who just can't get enough of a good thing... extra content.

It's been a busy season with a lot done from behind the scenes and new bands are popping up like wildflowers. In this issue, we though we'd add a section or two to try and make this website more functional while trying to maintain the focal point on music and culture. There are a lot of activities in our region and it seem to be getting busier each year, we're sweeping the proverbial dust out of the proverbial attic and getting in with the new proverbial times.

Trying to cover all the issues is a daunting task and keeping up with all that's going on has proven nearly impossible, which I find is amazing. And with more content comes more pages, which will be added to the local online newsletter/e-zine and will include new sections also.

Opinions

The community shall reap what it sows

For the past month we've had disputes over who was to blame for an incident that happened at the O Black Jack. The article is fully covered in the Small Fry Herald and I'm sure that by now, everyone is quite tired of hearing about it. The reason I bring this up, though, is to remind everyone that a community reaps what it sows. The once dried up soil has been fertilized with quite a lot of shit throughout the years and even if we can now enjoy the fruits of our labor, we should not forget the effort we made and the shit we had to endure to make this garden of ours what it is today. This is also to serve as a reminder to those who were not there during this period and to also remind them of the people that were and had to deal with all the shit for them.

It was a shit storm indeed the last year we were promised a skate park, my final blow was massive but it came at a cost, it cost me my "good standing" with a lot of people in this community… not that it matters, I'm not one to take it up the proverbial ass. It was worth the sacrifice, now the kids have a place to skate and oh do they ever rip it up. But I was never accredited with anything, as if they'd post my picture up there, I'm much to raw and vile but sincerely, that's how we managed to get what we wanted. That's what people don't realize.

Who was there 10 years ago when Mr. Jean Pedneaut of the local paper stood up in fury and put his reputation on the line by stating his opinion after the council had made a mockery of my grandmother who had painstakingly taken charge of the entire skate park project. This well respected man took a chance and voiced his opinion and no one knows about this. These people, including my grand-mother are the pioneers. They pushed and pushed until the city council gave in. They made petitions, held private competitions and did everything they could to sustain us and none of them received any recognition for their efforts. Who is recognized? The well respected elected officials and some other bullshit talkers that I will not name for the sake of civility.

So I ask you to keep this in mind next time someone threatens the work of this community, to think of the effort that others had to put in and if you must toast to someone's accomplishments, make sure you toast to the right person.

Thank you mémère Gaudreau, thank you Mr. Pednault and thanks to everyone that still works behind the scene, your generosity is tremendously appreciated.
